The jury rounds for the 2025 ICOTY (Indian Car of the Year) and IMOTY (Indian Motorcycle of the Year) are now complete. The winners will be revealed in January. This year, our editor, Arpit Mahendra, had the honour of serving on the jury, among other season journalists from different publications, for both ICOTY and IMOTY. Let’s explore the bikes and cars competing for these prestigious titles.

IMOTY 2025: Contenders

Among the motorcycles vying for the title are the Royal Enfield Bear 650, Hero Xtreme 125R, Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, BSA Gold Star 650, Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, Bajaj Freedom 125, Hero Mavrick 440, Triumph Speed T4, Bajaj Pulsar N125, and Aprilia RS 457. Each of these models has unique attributes that make them worthy of consideration, ranging from unique design to advanced features.

IMOTY 2025: Contenders

Similarly, the 20th ICOTY (Indian Car of the Year) nominations also highlight some of the most popular products in the Indian market. Notable mentions include the Mahindra Thar Roxx, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, MG Windsor, BYD eMax 7, Citroen Basalt, Tata Curvv, and Tata Punch EV.
In addition to the flagship awards, two special categories — Green Car of the Year and Premium Car of the Year — are also awarded. In the Green Car category, the nominees include the BYD Seal, BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV/EQS Maybach, MG Windsor, Mini Countryman EV, Tata Curvv EV, BYD e MAX 7, and the Tata Punch EV.
On the other hand, the models competing for the Premium Car of the Year award 2025 include Kia Carnival, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV/EQS Maybach, BYD Seal, BMW M5, BMW i5, and Mini Cooper S.
